Originally, we started this history project alongside Century of Stories – and this was our first ever press release searching for interested local stakeholders and residents to join in and add their ideas:
“Calling all Anstey Residents!
Do you know of anyone who has a story to tell about Anstey and the First World War? We would love to hear from you. Whether it’s memories, photos, stories or artefacts saved from the time – all would be a huge help for our latest project.
Jane and Beck from Anstey Library have linked up with the fantastic team at the Century Stories (see: http://www.centuryofstories.org.uk ) – and together we’re hoping to run an amazing local history project based around the centenary of the First World War with the help of the residents of Anstey. We would like to see as many people as possible involved with the research, and bring the whole village together.
If you have any information that might help, or would like to go onto our mailing list and have updates as the project progresses … please email BeckN@ansteylibrary.com
More details to follow very soon … in the meantime Century Stories have delivered two more beautiful banners to the Library, detailing Leicestershire’s WW1 History as told by local people, which are now on display for everyone to enjoy.”
