Heritage Trails

From a Saxon settlement of a few homesteads to the large village it is today, Anstey’s heritage is an important part of its identity.

During this time many significant buildings, businesses and organisations have been established. Some of these are still present, others have disappeared. Original buildings remain but now have other uses.

This is especially true of the many factories that have been part of Anstey’s industrial legacy.

Anstey Local history Society have devised a series of 10 trails, looking at different aspects of Anstey’s history. We hope that by following the trails the village’s heritage will not be forgotten.

Each trail varies in length and follows a different theme.

It is your responsibility to be aware of whether you are allowed to access any area, to follow the Highway Code, and to be observant of any hazards which may be present along or near your route.

If you experience any issues while following a trail please Contact Us and provide a description.

We hope you enjoy the experience and it  encourages you to learn more about Anstey’s past by joining the Anstey Local History Society
