  • John left Australia on the 20th August 1909 and it is thought that on arriving in England he may have stayed with his family on Bradgate Road, Anstey, Leicestershire.
  • His widowed aunt (Walter Putman’s mother) and cousins lived there, next door to his Parental grandmother – Eliza Putmann and Uncle George,
  • He nominated Edith May Jackson as his sole legatee, Edith was born in 1894 in Anstey, Leicestershire and in April 1911 was residing with her parents at Bradgate Road, Anstey. Could she have been a girlfriend or fiancé?
